Chon-Alai Artisan Group — Razhapbubu Sheralieva
Six-artisan group in Daroot-Korgon (Chon-Alai district) producing high-altitude felt traditions of the Pamir foothills.
The Chon-Alai artisan group, led by Razhapbubu (Tazagul) Sheralieva, is the most active village-craft cooperative in the deep south of Kyrgyzstan. Working from the Chon-Alai district centre Daroot-Korgon at 2,400 m altitude, six artisans produce shyrdaks, felt slippers and pressed-felt carpets in patterns specific to the southern Pamir tradition (more geometric and bolder-coloured than northern Kyrgyz designs). The group works with both Nomad Store and Alai Ishker Aiymdary for international export and welcomes visitors on EcoNomad’s Pamir Highway tours.
