Balykchy

Balykchy sits at the western tip of Issyk-Kul Lake — the gateway from Bishkek as the road climbs out of the Boom Gorge. A former Soviet industrial port now in slow decline, it serves mostly as a transit point and the launching road south to Naryn and Kochkor.
