Fergana

Fergana is the regional capital of the Fergana Valley — Central Asia's most fertile basin. Founded in 1876 as a Russian Imperial garrison, the city today has a quiet leafy-avenue feel and serves as the base for visits to the silk-weaving workshops of Margilan and the ceramic ateliers of Rishtan.
