Kyrgyzstan · Naryn Region
Naryn
Naryn is the highest regional capital in Kyrgyzstan at 2,020 m, strung along the Naryn River in a long narrow valley. Once a Soviet-era cattle and wool centre, it now serves as a base for trips to Tash-Rabat, Lake Song-Kol and the Chatyr-Kol border zone near China. The University of Central Asia campus has put the small town back on the regional map.
