Sary-Tash

Sary-Tash is a windswept border village at the junction of the Pamir Highway and the Irkeshtam road to China — one of the most photographed crossroads in Central Asia, with the white wall of the Pamir mountains rising suddenly to the south. A common refuelling and overnight stop on the route Osh → Tajikistan or Osh → Kashgar.
