Kyrgyzstan
Jalal-Abad Region
Jalal-Abad Region is the green south-west of Kyrgyzstan, where the Tian Shan foothills tumble into the Fergana Valley. The region is famous for the walnut forest of Arslanbob — believed to be the world's largest, said to be the source of all Eurasian walnut trees — and for the alpine biosphere reserve of Sary-Chelek with its seven turquoise lakes.
